'Scuba Steve' Moody Emerges from the Far-out Mind of Slobot - 'Mooood Swings' show at LiFT (Sept. 6, 2008)
Wednesday, September 03, 2008

Another amazing creation from the mind of American artist, Slobot. Yes, if you look closely, the torso of the Moody platform is still there ... sans its trademark horns and hooves.

Slobot has pulled the Moody platfrom out of the scrap heap and transformed it into 'Scuba Steve' - a shark-hunting, diving, peacenik Slobot from another planet. This stretched-out Moody custom will fit in perfectly with the MAXX Moody custom created by Singapore artist, PhuEk (images on Bovinyl blog).

'Scuba Steve' will make its appearance at the upcoming 'Mooood Swings' show at the LiFT Gallery this Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008. Here's what Slobot has to say about his latest creation “Scuba Steve is a shark hunting robot. His chief concern in life is causing humans and sharks to live in peace. If a shark won’t listen to reason, then Scuba Steve pulls their teeth out (but still lets the shark live.)”

Here's a bit about the mind behind 'Scuba Steve'. I am a robot enthusiast, painting and sculpting my own brand - 'The slobots'. I have spent the last few years, bouncing around the east coast with my hot wife and our two dogs, living in NYC, Miami's South Beach, and now we live in coastal North Carolina... NC? What? Yeah, that's what we thought until we moved here :) Check out more about this talented artist and his Slobots at http://blog.slobots.com.
